"I wrote this song during a mushroom trip one summer while I was reading a lot of Eve Babitz, listening obsessively to 'Along Comes Mary' by the Association and thinking pessimistically about life in Los Angeles and its people, while also being conscious of the fact that I was, in fact, one of those people."
